MELANCHOLIA XV: MORPHINE explores the space between reality and the inner world; where sensations become muted and consciousness drifts into an almost dreamlike state. Inspired by Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams, and morphine as a symbol of altered perception and relief from pain, the collection reflects a woman who is at once controlled and sensual, present yet distant. Sharp tailoring, architectural silhouettes and a predominantly black-and-white palette are punctuated by vivid red, while lace introduces a new tension between exposure and restraint. MORPHINE is not about escapism, but control over it - the conscious choice of what to feel and what to suppress.
